ROB TESTER
OL COACH
Coaching Experience
Coach Rob Tester has been coaching for more than 10
years. He began as a volunteer coach for his local youth
program the Mt. Olive Marauders. He took time, while
still in High School, to help the youth of Mt. Olive
get involved in a sport he was trying to make a career
in. Coach Tester spent several years with the Marauders
helping when he came home from the teams he was under
contract with. As a coach, he assisted with the OL/DL
and Special teams. Then, Coach Tester was called on
to fill in as a Head Coach for the local program.
While coaching, with his young son at his side, he received
that phone call from the New Jersey Revolution. Coaches
wait a life time for an opportunity to coach at the
professional level. Coach Tester was given the opportunity
to join a select group of men and become a Professional
Coach. That day, Coach Tester got to be part of a smaller
group of people who had been a Professional Athlete
and then became a Professional Coach.
Coach Tester is now entering his 2nd year with the New
Jersey Revolution. He has increased the level of play
upfront for the Revolution. The new style of play has
given the offensive line respect through the league--giving
up 0 sacks in 2009 season. The defensive front has become
known for their aggressive style with the hit everything
that moves attitude and aggressive pursuit which has
rewarded the defensive front with numerous sacks and
safeties.
Athletic Achievements
Coach Rob Tester has learned what it takes to succeed
in the world of football. As a player, Coach Tester
played his first year of football as a freshman in High
School. He was brought from the freshman team up to
varsity team that year--before the season even started.
Hard lessons were learned about what it would take to
succeed on the field. Succeed he did--spending four
years working on speed, strength and technique. Coach
Rob Tester left his High School weighing 295 benching
350, leg pressing 1250 and a squat rack at 800 pounds.
Coach Tester received a letter of invite to the University
of Pittsburgh, home of the Panthers. Not long after
that, Coach Rob Tester was given the chance to play
in the Opportunity Bowl in Las Vegas, NV. He then moved
onto a multi National Championship Minor League team
and enjoyed being named: a Defensive Captain, two time
all-star and winning a National Title.
Coach Tester was then invited into the world of Arena
football--playing teams from across the country. After
spending time in the world of football where hitting
the wall tells you when you're out of bounds, Coach
Rob Tester received notification that every player waits
for--inviting him to a Pro Football Combine. Coach Rob
Tester was then selected for the USA All-star Olympic
Trial Team, which played teams from across the world
with teams from Germany, Canada, England and more. He
was also placed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where
he did a T. V. commercial with Kordell Stewart. Coach
Tester also has done T.V. commercial ads for Sprite,
OTB, and Sprint, which then gave him the opportunity
to work in movies. Coach Rob Tester has been in more
then 5 motion picture movies.
His career has taken him on the road as a player to
contracts, combines, mini camps, T.V. ads and even the
movies with the AFL, AFL2, CFL, EFL, XFL, NFL and the
WFL. He knows how rare and special each road has been
for him. Now he begins his new journey as a Professional
Coach with the New Jersey Revolution and the AIFA.
Personal
Coach Rob Tester resides in his hometown of Mt. Olive
N. J. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Crystal,
son Robert and daughter Kristen. They are currently
