MuscleSport Mag Aligns With Champion Sports & Entertainment (NJ Revs, Lightning & Thunder, Triple FC MMA)
There
are times when a partnership is one that just makes too much
sense not to happen. That seems to be the case with the breaking
news that MuscleSport
Mag has aligned with
Champion Sports and Entertainment, the parent
company of the New Jersey Revolution (American Indoor Football
Association), New Jersey Lightning (Eastern Basketball Alliance),
New Jersey Thunder (Women's Eastern Basketball Alliance) and
TripleFC Mixed Martial Arts.
"With our home office being in New York, having a strategic
partnership with such a diverse organization right next door
is a win-win situation," said Joe Pietaro, Owner and
President of MuscleSport, LLC. "We are extremely excited
to get this going and begin covering their unique brand of
arena football, basketball and MMA."
"It is not too often when you have a magazine dedicated
to covering a team," said Kevin Hanratty of Champion
Sports and Entertainment. "This is a great opportunity
for everyone involved. We also plan on collaborating with
MuscleSport Mag on editorial covering position specific sports-related
exercise programs from the athletes themselves, something
that has not been done before in the industry."
The Revolution will kick off their first
season as a member of the AIFA on March 14. The organization
began play as the New York/New Jersey Revolution in their
inaugural 2006 season as a member of the Great Lakes Indoor
Football League. In 2008, they dropped 'New York' from the
team name. The announcement was made on October 1, 2009 that
the team would participate in the American
Indoor Football Association (AIFA), which was
formed in 2005 with six clubs. This season, there will be
13 teams divided amongst the East and West divisions.
The Revolution will play a 14-game schedule,
with six of the seven home games to be held at the William
G. Mennen Arena, a 2,500-seat facility in Morristown, New
Jersey. On June 12, 2010, the Revs will host the Harrisburg
Stampede at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton for the 'Football Spectacular.'
Both the Lightning
and Thunder will be entering their second season
of operation in the EBA and WEBA, respectively. Last October,
the Lightning and Newark Patrons played in the first game
of a doubleheader at the Prudential Center, home of the New
Jersey Nets of the National Basketball Association. Former
Net Dallas A.. Comegys serves as the head coach of both teams.
TripleFC,
a professional fight league, will be launched shortly and
sure to capture on the popularity of the fledging sport. MuscleSport,
LLC is a five-tiered media outlet that includes a print publication,
online magazine (produced the same as the print version with
a page flipper viewer), MuscleSport Radio, MuscleSport TV
and website.
